On May 25, 2022, a jury found Defendant Juan Carpio-Perdomo guilty of three counts of Penal Code 288(a), lewd act upon a child.
The victim, John Doe, is now 16 years old. But when he was 13 years old, he disclosed to his parents that the defendant, his nanny’s boyfriend, had sexually molested him one night when he was between 5 and 8 years old. Under the guise of putting him to bed, the defendant got into bed with the boy and touched him and had the victim touch him in a lewd and lascivious manner.
The Court found true the aggravating factors that the defendant was in a position of trust and that the victim was particularly vulnerable.
The defendant is expected to be sentenced Aug. 9 in Department 2.
