A jury found defendant Ahmad Azizi guilty of forcible rape.

In 2016 the victim, who was 21 years old, went to a nightclub in San Francisco with her friends. The victim bumped into the defendant, 38 years old, who bought her shots. They spent time together and the victim became severely intoxicated to the point of no longer being able to recall certain moments of the evening. The defendant removed the victim from the club and away from her friends without notice. He put her into a private car driven by a man the defendant had contracted with before. The defendant paid to have the victim driven to a second car who then transported the pair to the defendant’s home in Dublin. During the transportation, the victim was so intoxicated that she was unable to stand on her own, vomited, and at one point needed to be carried.

At the defendant’s home in Dublin, the defendant forcibly raped her. She was then taken to a restaurant in Antioch and dropped off to her friends. The victim immediately reported the crime to police.

During the trial, another victim testified that she was raped by the defendant in an almost identical way in 2003. This victim was given a drink by the defendant in a Modesto nightclub and became unusually intoxicated from it. The defendant led this woman to a nearby hotel where she vomited, and was in and out of consciousness. She was sexually assaulted, blacked out, and the next thing she remembered was being loaded into an ambulance.

The defendant is expected to be sentenced on October 14, 2022 in Department 713.

This case was prosecuted by DDA Jason Quinn with assistance from Inspector Nicole Jennings and Victim Witness Advocates Nicole Santos and Maddie Bains.
