Alameda County District Attorney’s Office Extends Regrets to Victims’ Families for Unprecedented Breach of Professional Responsibility by Former Prosecutor

District Attorney Pamela Price Affirms Full Confidence and Unwavering Support for Legal Team Prosecuting David Misch

Oakland, CA – August 4, 2023. The prosecution of David Misch for murder and a variety of related charges is proceeding with a distinguished team of seasoned lawyers. Our office has every confidence that they will be able to successfully try the case and that Defendant Misch will be convicted and spend the rest of his days in prison.

Colleen McMahon’s continuing disregard for her ethical responsibilities as a prosecutor demonstrates the correctness of our decision to remove her from the Misch case and ultimately, accept her resignation from the County’s employment. The new administration of the District Attorney’s Office expects all prosecutors to respect their oaths and ethical responsibilities under the law in service to the residents of Alameda County.

We extend our deepest regrets to the victims’ families and the survivors of these horrific crimes for this unprecedented breach of professional responsibility by a former member of this office.
