DA Pamela Price Announces $6 Million Grant for the CARES Navigation Center October 8, 2024 OAKLAND, CA — Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced that her office was awarded a $6 million grant by the California Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) to expand the Community Assessment Referral Engagement Services (CARES) Navigation Center diversion program. Alameda County was one of 27 government and community-based organizations in the state awarded the grant after a highly competitive process. This is the largest grant ever awarded to the Alameda County District Attorney's office. The CARES Navigation Center is the only pre-arrest diversion program in Alameda County. District Attorney Pamela Price Files a Dozen Felony Charges Against Man Accused of Multiple Armed Robberies October 3, 2024 Oakland, CA — Today, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announces a dozen felony charges filed against Xavier Massey (21) for allegedly committing a series of armed robberies of Oakland businesses in August and September of 2024. Mr. Massey is charged with five counts of felony second-degree robbery. In addition, he is facing one felony count for carrying a loaded firearm in public; one felony count for carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle, and five felony counts for carrying a concealed firearm. District Attorney Pamela Price Announces Settlement Holding Safeway, Vons, Albertsons Accountable for Overcharging Customers Companies to Pay Nearly $4 Million to Settle Civil Complaint October 3, 2024 OAKLAND, CA — Today, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced that Safeway, Albertsons, and Vons will pay $3,962,500 in a stipulated judgment to settle a civil law enforcement complaint alleging false advertising and unfair competition arising from overcharging customers. Albertsons Companies, Safeway Inc., and The Vons Companies operate 589 stores in California under the brand name banners of Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, and others. In Alameda County, there are approximately 28 Safeway stores. The civil action and stipulated judgment were filed in Marin Superior Court. Dyal (43) has been charged with over 150 felony charges and all available sentencing enhancements in connection with a massive, nearly eight-year-long embezzlement scheme against his former employer, a local trucking company based in Union City. The charges against Mr. Dyal include 89 counts of grand theft by embezzlement, one for each month between January 2015 and May 2022, when his alleged crimes were discovered.
