On March 16, 2022, a jury found defendant Raul Pinzon Garcia guilty of allegations of sexual assault against two victims.

The jury found the defendant guilty of sex crimes with a child 10 or under, forcible lewd act upon a child and other related offenses.

Starting from approximately 5 to 6 years old, Jane Doe 1 was molested by her biological father. The defendant committed multiple acts of sexual abuse on her until she was 11-years-old and her mom witnessed one incident of assault. Through tears, Jane Doe 1 explained to her mom what she had been going through at the defendant’s hands.

Additionally, Jane Doe 2 was abused from 4 to 5 years old until she was in high school. Jane Doe 2 described the same man (her stepfather) committing atrocious acts of molestation and sexual abuse for many years. Unfortunately, those two victims were not the only ones harmed in this manner by the defendant. Four other individuals testified to sexual abuse perpetrated against them by the same man for years before the final disclosure in 2018.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Charly Weissenbach with the assistance of Inspector Sheralyn Padua and Victim-Witness Advocates Michelle Joya, Maninder Bains, and Claudia Romero. The defendant is expected to be sentenced April 11, 2022.
