PEOPLE VS JUAN CARPIO PERDOMO May 27, 2022
On May 25, 2022, a jury found Defendant Juan Carpio-Perdomo guilty of three counts of Penal Code 288(a), lewd act upon a child.
The victim, John Doe, is now 16 years old. But when he was 13 years old, he disclosed to his parents that the defendant, his nanny’s boyfriend, had sexually molested him one night when he was between 5 and 8 years old. Under the guise of putting him to bed, the defendant got into bed with the boy and touched him and had the victim touch him in a lewd and lascivious manner.

ALAMEDA COUNTY DA ANNOUNCES BODY OF HOMICIDE VICTIM FOUND AFTER 18 YEARS May 18, 2022
Cynthia “Linda” Alonzo slain in 2004, found
OAKLAND – Alameda County District Attorney Nancy E. O’Malley announces that the body of missing homicide victim Cynthia “Linda” Alonzo, who was killed nearly 18 years ago, has been found in Oakland.
“After nearly 18 years of waiting, the family of Linda Alonzo may finally find some peace in knowing that their loved one can ultimately be laid to rest,” said District Attorney O’Malley. “We cannot begin to imagine the pain and unrest that her family must have felt through all this time not knowing where Linda was. Our thoughts are with them.”
PEOPLE V MICHAEL BRITTON May 18, 2022
On May 11, 2022 a jury found Defendant Michael Britton guilty of the second-degree murder of Omar Abdallah.
On October 9, 2017, a verbal argument broke out between the defendant and Mr. Abdallah in an autobody shop in East Oakland, over a dice game. The defendant drew a gun and held it at his side. Mr. Abdallah, who was unarmed, did not back down and pushed the defendant onto the hood of a car before backing up six feet from him.
PEOPLE V RICHARD SCOTT May 16, 2022
On May 9, 2022 a jury found Defendant Richard Scott guilty of three counts of felony second degree robbery.
On September 23, 2021 at around 10:45 p.m. the defendant entered the Go Gas and Food gas station at 720 High Street in Oakland and robbed two gas station employees. The robbery was captured on surveillance video. Defendant dropped his debit card during the robbery.
PEOPLE V BRENTON STUART BOATWRIGHT May 12, 2022
On May 9, 2022 a jury found Defendant Brenton Stuart Boatwright guilty of the second-degree murder of Kaylen Tate, 24, an innocent bystander in a gun battle.
On July 22, 2019 in a residential neighborhood in Oakland, the defendant and a another man, Abdulsatar Muqbel, got into a heated argument. Mr. Tate, who was with the defendant, got in between the two men to try and stop them. They separated and left the area.

Who can resist the charms of an adorable puppy? As many have learned during the pandemic, canine companions provide comfort and joy in a challenging time. Since the start of the pandemic, the sale of dogs has soared and continues to climb.
Unfortunately, scammers are exploiting that longing for companionship. In 2021, pet scams made up to 35% of all online shopping scams reported to the BBB. Puppy scams usually take the following form: Scammers post cute photos to lure unsuspecting buyers. The puppies sometimes come with additional costs for things like quarantine and delivery fees. The unsuspecting buyer sends payment and then waits expectantly for their new pet, who never arrives.

On May 5, 2022, a jury found Defendant Marcel Lavell Prince guilty of the first-degree murder of Edward Williams Jr.
On June 30, 2021, the defendant and Mr. Williams, who are cousins by marriage, were hanging out on the 1400 block of 90th Avenue in Oakland around 11 p.m. Mr. Williams’ girlfriend was in the front passenger seat of his car.
