People v. Garrell Henderson

On September 25, 2019, a jury found defendant Garrell Henderson guilty of two counts of robbery as well as being a felon in possession of a gun, felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of an assault weapon.

The two gunpoint robberies occurred on September 29, 2017 within a one hour period. The first robbery of a 14-year old boy walking in the neighborhood he lived in and the second a 23-year-old man who had just got off work and was walking to Fruitvale B.A.R.T. On October 3, 2017 at approximately 1:30a.m., California Highway Patrol pulled over the car used in the two robberies, which defendant Henderson was driving. A loaded MAC-11 9mm assault weapon (believed to be the one used in the robberies) was found on his lap.

This case was prosecuted by DDA Charly Weissenbach with the assistance of Inspector Brian Delahunty.
