People v Deontay Laquawn Wilson

On July 10, 2014, a jury convicted Deontay Laquawn Wilson of robbery with the use of a firearm. On June 18, 2013 the victim was contacted by an unidentified male on Craigslist offering cell phones. The victim agreed to meet the male at the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and 28th Street in Oakland. At the meeting point, the victim was confronted by two suspects, one of which robbed him at gun point, and the suspects fled. Later that night, the defendant was pulled over by police officers for operating a vehicle without a license plate. The officers searched the defendant's car and found identifying information belonging to the victim. The prosecutor was DDA Gregory O'Connell with assistance from DA Inspector Harry Hu.
