People v Robert Wilson

On August 11, 2014, a jury convicted Robert Wilson of felony assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury. On February 6, 2014, Wilson and his friend initiated a fist fight with the victim over a prior dispute. After the fight, the defendant grabbed the victim and dragged him down the block backwards in the car and around the corner. The victim's clothing was torn off his body and he fell into the street, splitting his ear and suffering serious road burn. Defendant Wilson denied to the police that he had been in any fight. The jury rejected the defendant's claim at trial that he acted in self-defense. The case was prosecuted by DDA Warren Ko with assistance from DA Inspector Mark Moreno.
