Holiday Senior Safety Workshop

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Elder Protection Unit will host the Holiday Senior Safety Workshop on Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Castro Valley Public Library.

Each holiday season brings more crime into our local community. Make sure you and your loved ones are more knowledgeable about holiday safety by attending the Alameda County Senior Workshop: Staying Safe During the Holidays. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Elder Protection Unit has coordinated this workshop in conjunction with the Alameda County Fire Department and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department.

This is a free, elder abuse awareness workshop to provide more information to seniors and dependent adults regarding crimes, including fraud scams, which target elders and dependent adults during the holidays.

Other topics included in this workshop include safety awareness tips from the fire and sheriff’s department. There will also be a Victim/Witness advocate from the District Attorney’s Office who will provide seniors and dependent adults with more information on services and resources.
