District Attorney Pamela Price Files a Dozen Felony Charges Against Man Accused of Multiple Armed Robberies

Oakland, CA — Today, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announces a dozen felony charges filed against Xavier Massey (21) for allegedly committing a series of armed robberies of Oakland businesses in August and September of 2024. Mr. Massey is charged with five counts of felony second-degree robbery. In addition, he is facing one felony count for carrying a loaded firearm in public; one felony count for carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle, and five felony counts for carrying a concealed firearm.

The criminal complaint alleges that on or about August 30, 2024, Mr. Massey entered a Cricket Wireless store where he allegedly showed the clerk a concealed gun before demanding money from the register. The complaint further alleges that less than an hour later, Mr. Massey used a gun to rob a street vendor of product and cash.­ The complaint also alleges that on or about August 31, 2024, Mr. Massey entered a McDonald’s and brandished a gun towards the employees demanding money. The allegations include that on or about September 18, 2024, Mr. Massey walked up to a Burger King drive-through window and pointed a gun at the employee while demanding money. The complaint also alleges that on or about September 22, 2024, Mr. Massey entered La Raza Market, where he pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money.

“Targeting businesses and their employees who are just trying to earn a living for themselves and their families will not be tolerated in Alameda County,” said DA Pamela Price.” “Using a gun to commit robberies adds an additional layer of danger to the employer, the workers, and their customers. My office will continue to hold people accountable for committing these crimes in our community.”

Xavier Massey is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on October 8, 2024, in Department 115 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse. If sentenced and convicted of all charges Mr. Massey faces 13 years and 8 months in prison.
