The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office is recruiting for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to work with our Trauma Recovery Center Team at the Alameda County Family Justice Center (“ACFJC”). Applicants for this position must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with trauma informed care experience who conducts outreach, assessment, case management and psychotherapy services with clients and brings a trauma informed, cultural humility lens to each aspect of these services.

TRC Clinicians must have training and expertise in the assessment and treatment of acute trauma and poly-victimization, along with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders and personality disorders.

Client EMpowerment Specialist

 

The Client Empowerment Specialist is primarily responsible for the programing, case management and data reporting of the ACFJC survivor training programs.

A key responsibility of the Client Empowerment Specialist is to facilitate the ACFJC’s STEP-UP (Survivor Training and Empowerment Program-Utilizing your Potential) program. STEP-UP is a training and self-sufficiency program for survivors of domestic violence. The purpose of STEP-UP is to empower survivors with the personal, professional, and financial skills to begin reconstructing their lives and ultimately breaking the cycle of domestic violence. This program enables survivors to become self-sufficient for not only themselves but for their children and families. STEP-UP offers individualized empowerment sessions, on-site professional development classes, and group-based self-sufficiency workshops.

 The California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) is a state program dedicated to providing reimbursement for many crime-related expenses to eligible victims who suffer physical injury or the threat of physical injury as a direct result of a violent crime. CalVCB funding comes from restitution paid by criminal offenders through fines, orders, penalty assessments, and federal funds.

Our mission is to assure the rights of victims of crime by providing responsive financial compensation through a stable restitution fund. CalVCB is a funded department under the direction of the Government Operations Agency.

The Senior Claims Specialist position requires the evaluation of an applicant’s eligibility for State Compensation from the Victims of Violent Crimes Act, a financial reimbursement program administered by the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board (VCGCB). The Senior Claims Specialist assists the Claims Unit Supervisor in managing the Claims Verification Unit, monitoring work processes, and consulting complex claims issues.
