Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price’s office is reviewing 35 death penalty cases after prosecutors discover evidence of prosecutorial misconduct. The District Attorney’s Office is reaching out to victims and survivors whom these crimes may have impacted. Anyone who has not been contacted but who was directly impacted by one of these cases is urged to contact the assigned Victim-Witness Advocates at 510-208-9555 or email them at shawn.mitchell@acgov.org. Lawyers are also standing by to answer questions and offer information about the status of each case.

Indoor Mask Required in Public
December 13, 2021 –
California has now changed its mask requirements to match CDC guidance. Alameda County requires everyone, including fully vaccinated people, to wear a mask in indoor public settings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Early Release Alerts
Due to recent changes in California law, as well as circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, some inmates are being released from custody earlier than the date originally determined at the time of sentencing.

Cell Site Simulator Policy
Cell-site simulator technology provides valuable assistance in support of important public safety objectives. Whether deployed as part of a fugitive apprehension effort, to locate at-risk people or missing children, or to provide search and rescue support in natural disasters and emergencies, cell-site2 simulators fulfill critical operational needs.
This technology will only be utilized when authorized by a search warrant signed by a judicial officer that has been reviewed through the judicial process.

Cannabis Convictions Petitions/Prop 64 Policy
On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, the voters passed Proposition 64, the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act. The Act legalizes adult use Cannabis as well and establishes regulations that will control and oversee the industry. The Act further establishes protocols for reducing, dismissing and sealing old convictions for Health & Safety Code Sections 11357, 11359 and 11360.
