People v Troy Seales

On April 6, 2018, a jury found Defendant Troy Seales guilty of 1st Degree Murder and of personal and intentional discharge of a firearm resulting in the death of Deandre Adams. On August 25, 2017 at about 10:20 am, Mr. Adams was driving his car near the intersection of 88th and Olive in Oakland, Ca. Mr. Seales, who had an ongoing feud with Mr. Adams, used a AK-47 assault rifle to shoot at Mr. Adams who was driving by Mr. Seales. Mr. Adams was struck one time as he passed Mr. Seales. Mr. Seales then fled the scene and threatened witnesses over the phone to “keep their mouths shut.” Mr. Seales’ co-defendant Dupree Riley is still awaiting trial for his role in the murder.

The case was handled by DDA Butch Ford, Inspector Caesar Basa and Victim-Witness Advocate Marina Hammergren.
