DA’s Office Participates in Law Enforcement Torch Run

On June 21, 2016, twenty employees from the Alameda County DA's Office participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise awareness for the Special Olympics of Northern California.

Our runners took the ‘Flame of Hope’ torch on a four mile course through the streets of Oakland. As they ran past the courthouse by Lake Merritt, they were cheered by colleagues and stopped for a quick photo before they continued on to 7th Street to pass the torch to OPD.

The DA's Office Torch Run team with District Attorney Nancy O'Malley, Chief Assistant Kevin Dunleavy and Chief of Inspectors Robert Chenault.

Each year, the DA's Office participates in the Law Enforcement Torch Run to help raise awareness of the Special Olympics and has been a proud supporter of Special Olympics for over 26 years. We join with other local law enforcement agencies to support the Special Olympics mission to help athletes with special needs transform themselves, their communities and the world.
