Meet DA Nancy E. O'Malley

District Attorney's Office Hosts Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs

On November 25, 2009, District Attorney Nancy E. O’Malley and the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office hosted a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs. The delegation toured the Rene C. Davidson courthouse, meeting with Presiding Judge Yolanda Northridge. The Delegation also toured the Alameda County Family Justice Center.

Several Asian American members of the District Attorney’s Office as well as Ms. O’Malley discussed the role of the DA’s Office with a particular focus on victims’ right. The delegation was particularly interested in learning about services provided to victims of crime. Ms. O’Malley spoke to the delegation about the details of the Victim’s Bill of Rights, victim restitution as well as other systems in place to assist crime victims.

The Delegation selected the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office because of its reputation as a leader in the criminal justice field, particularly in effective administration of justice, prosecution and victims’ rights. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has ranked #1 in California for its work in Victims’ Services and Restitution for the past several years.
