Alameda County District Attorney's Office
Nancy E. O'Malley, District Attorney

Meet DA Nancy E. O'Malley

Community Outreach

Community involvement remains a priority of the District Attorney’s Office. From educating young people to participating in neighborhood meetings and senior citizen informational gatherings, our Office places a high value on interaction with all members of the Alameda County community.

We reach out to the various school, religious and community groups through our Speakers Bureau. The bureau matches qualified speakers from our office to inform the community about various subjects, such as the aspects of the criminal justice system, victims' rights, consumer protection and the role of the DA's Office. Additionally, we also host regular community forums including the Fraud Forum series aimed at helping our senior community identify scams. To find out about upcoming community events, please visit our Upcoming Events page.

Each year, we participate in numerous local events including National Night Out, Oakland Chinatown Street Fair, the Eid festival in south county celebrating the end of Ramadan, Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame and in People v Hunger: helping the Alameda County Food Bank. Our bilingual staff help us to disseminate our message into non-English-speaking communities, ensuring that all Alameda County residents understand that the DA's Office is here to help them.

The Spirit of Volunteerism at the DA's Office

Our employees have a long history of giving back to the community by spending many hours of their personal time helping worthy causes throughout the county. At last count, more than 150 of our staff were active in participating in local charities as well as community and professional organizations, including a number serving on various management boards.
